Existing Trail to Amberleh
This is the only existing entrance for the Park Trail. It is on Morning View Lane in Island Creek. Users must negociate a steep slope to enter or leave the Trail Area.
The Entrance Trail is 4/10 of a mile long. It slopes downhill from Morning View Lane.
The Eastern Termius is near the Amberleh development. Note the natural surface footpath just beyond the bicycle.
This footpath continues east towards Amberleh from the Eastern Termius of the existing trail. Tt leaves Park property, but it appears to turn South and reenter Park property in about 200 yards.
The Eastern and Western Terminus points are about 6/10 of a mile apart. The trail is consistant asphalt in good condition, and about seven feet wide.
It appears that Dominion Power trucks make an impromptu trail access point about 1/10 of a mile away from the Western Terminus in order to get to the power lines. This could be a canidate for a construction access point.
The grade of the ground going south towards Island Creek starts out shallow, but gets very steep as you approach Dorothy Glass Court.
The descent from Dorothy Glass Court is just as steep as the present trail entrance on Morning View Lane.
This is a 12-foot trail going East towards Amberlegh. Note the steep downhill slope towards the North, and the Eastern terminus of the Main Trail.
